While you may be doing everything you can to stay healthy, the immune system typically weakens as we age and has a harder time fighting off infections, such as those from RSV.
RSV infections can be severe. They can even lead to hospitalization in older adults with certain underlying conditions.
The underlying conditions that could put you at increased risk?
Diabetes with complications
Asthma
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
Heart failure (HF)

There are no specific treatments for adults who get sick with RSV, but protection is available for adults 50+ with certain underlying conditions and those 75 and older. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about RSV vaccination.
